Day of the Dead–Día de los Muertos

Our class has been learning about the Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos. Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico where families honor their loved ones who have passed away.

Rather than posting lots of information and facts about the holiday, I am going to post several good websites where you can learn more about the holiday. Our class will then do the research and post their information here on the blog.

I hope you enjoy learning about Dia de los Muertos!

Great DOD websites:

Mexican Sugar Skull

Day of the Dead

Dia de los Muertos history and recipes!

Informative article about the holiday!

I think this was the best trip ever especially because I was there with people I know.I loved hiking and seeing things like fittler crabs, birds and other things. But the best thing was going with Ms.Lenahan.

    1. A groundhog is the largest member of the squirrel family:Another name for a groundhog is woodchunk or Marmota monax.
    2. I think the famous Punxsutawney live in a cage in a house.
    3. The lengend of the groundhog is if the groundhog sees it’s shadow it is 6 more weeks of winter, and if the groundhog doesn’t see it’s shadow spring will be coming soon.
    4. Yes, the groundhog will see his shadow so it will be 6 more weeks of winter.

      Malachi,
So nice to hear from you! I am glad you like the blog, Malachi. Yes, my students have been on a little bit when the Internet works! The rats and I are doing great. Yes, we still have Environmental Club and YES, it would be wonderful for you to join us! We meet every Thursday from 3-4:30pm. You can call me and we can set something up. Would enjoy seeing you again and who knows, maybe we’ll get out to the Refuge!

Take care and write back soon,
      Ms. Lenahan
