Groundhog Day Contest!

You may be asking yourself, what in the world is Groundhog Day? And why would we have a school-wide contest to celebrate such a day?

Well, Groundhog Day is a holiday that is celebrated every year on February 2. Wait, instead of me writing it here, you could click here and read about it for yourself!

    1) A groundhog is a woodchuck and another name for this animal is Marmota Monax.
    2)Groundhogs live in North America but mostly found in northeastern central in the USA.
    3)The legend of groundhogs and its shadows is that the hibernating groundhog comes out of its burrow on February 2.
    4)Well I think it won’t see its shadows because I think it might turn the other way and may not see its shadows.

    1. A groundhog is an animal that digs holes, lives in the ground and pops out of his hole February 2, 2010 and is also called the woodchuck or whistle-pig.

    2. The famous groundhog, Phil lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

    3. The legend of the groundhog is when a groundhog sees his shadow there is 6 more weeks of winter. If the groundhog does not see his shadow there will be an early spring.

    4. Yes I think that the Phil will see his shadow on February second because Phil will probably will be scared of the sunlight and hide in their shadows.

    3.If a groundhog sees its shadow there is six more weeks until spring.
    4.Yes I think the groundhog will see its shadow because it is still cold outside.

    1.A groundhog is an animal that comes out of his hole in the ground on February 2 to see is shadow and if he sees his shadow there are six weeks of winter leaf. A groundhog is also called a woodchuck or a marmot.
    2.The famous Punxsutawney groundhog lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
    3.If a groundhog sees its shadow there is six more weeks until spring.
    4.I think the groundhog will see its shadow in February 2.

    1. A groundhog lives in the ground and only comes out every 2nd in February. It is also called a whistle pig or a woodchuck.
    2.The famous Punxsutawney Phil groundhog lives in Pennsilvania.
    3.If a groundhog sees it’s shadow there will be 6 more weeks of winter and if it does not spring will come early.
    4. I do not think Phil will see his shadow because if Phil looks all over the place and the shadow wouldn’t move Phil won’t see his shadow.
    Why do people call Phil Punxsutawney?
