just practicing…again

I never thought this dahlia was going to bloom. I bought it on a clearance shelf somewhere, stuck it in a pot and hoped it would grow. One night while working in the yard, John called me over to see this beautiful, blood-red bloom. “Now you know why dahlias have always been one of my favorite flowers,” I told him. As I smelled its new smell, I smiled and remembered the dahlias my dad planted a long time ago. Thanks, Dad.
